Portraits

I make portraits in graphite, pen and ink, watercolor, marker, colored pencil and digital. I also offer portrait renderings in Art Nouveau style (see left). Every project is different, so it's difficult to provide an accurate estimate. It depends mostly on the level of detail and number of figures in the portrait.

Graphite pencil portraits are drawn on acid-free archival illustration board. Pen and ink portraits are on white Esdee scraperboard. Watercolor portraits are painted on either Arches cold press paper or illustration board. I also do simulated pen and ink stipple drawings digitally, as seen here. This technique is significantly faster than traditional stippling.

I make digital prints on Epson Ultra Premium Luster photo paper or Epson Premium Satin Canvas. Sizes for digital are limited to 13" on one side. If you'd like a bigger print, another option is to order my prints through deviantArt.

Prices are based solely on the time it takes to complete the commission. As an example, for a custom portrait similar to the one shown on the left I would charge $750. A graphite pencil portrait with a simple background would run $250.
