Email issues
So we recently fixed a problem with my email. It's a long story, but for a while anyone who tried sending email to john@petersenart.com had it kicked back to them. It seems this had been happening for several weeks and I didn't know, because I have all my email forwarded to my gmail account. So if you sent me an email and it got sent back to you undeliverable, I apologize. The problem is fixed now; I am still here.

Drafting table pdf
I've been getting a lot of requests for my drafting table plans, and am currently working on a downloadable pdf. I've been so busy with other projects that the table has been so far on the backburner it's almost fried. I have plans to make a new drafting table, since I'm not entirely happy with this one's design, especially now that I know what I'm doing when it comes to woodworking.

Looking at Macs...
I have been having unprecedented computer troubles as of late. My home PC has been undergoing major exploratory surgery. It started when I tried installing Adobe Creative Suite 3, which I purchased legitimately. I had a hell of a time getting it to install. After installing a new main hard drive, it seemed to work with my friend Scott's help. However, I started getting random shutdowns. My computer would just literally shut off with no warning. After some more diagnostics, we discovered that my motherboard chipset was overheating like crazy. So I got a new motherboard and CPU. Only now I can't even reinstall Windows. I get a blue error screen. I've now come to discover that I have faulty RAM. So now I'm running MemTest from a boot CD to eliminate the bad memory.
If I have to waste one more hour trying to figure this out, or if one more thing goes wrong I swear I am chucking this goddamn box off my balcony and getting a Mac. I need to spend my time actually working and creating art, not searching for error codes on Google. The only reason I am still putzing around with this machine is because I dropped $1,800 on Adobe CS3. I wonder if the folks at Adobe will let me exchange my windows license for a Mac license. More updates to come...

I won!
I won the World War Z art contest! I get $800 prize money, but what really excites me is my artwork will be featured in the paperback edition to be released on September 25. This is huge for me. The movie is supposed to come out sometime next year, so I should be getting enormous exposure. That makes two New York Times bestsellers in which I've been published. I need to contact an agent and start the ball rolling on this...

Downtime
Another update to the illustration area. I've made a separate page for all of the artwork I've done for the Jewels of Cleopatra game. I've had a bit of a breather today at work, which is guaranteed not to last, so I thought I'd update the site. Corporachnid has been on the backburner for some time now, and it's starting to bother me. I really want to finish the damn thing! Going to be busy this weekend, though, helping my sister Teresa move back to Iowa after living in Arizona for many years.
